Congratulations Chief Adrian Z. Diaz
Please join the Seattle Police Foundation in congratulating Chief Adrian Z. Diaz, who was formally confirmed as the Chief of the Seattle Police Department by the Seattle City Council on Tuesday, January 3.

Chief Diaz began his career with the Seattle Police Department in 1997 in Patrol, the Mountain Bike Unit, and the Anti-Crime Team, before joining the Investigations Bureau and then continuing to move up through the ranks. He is a longtime, established Foundation partner and we are grateful for his groundbreaking work in community-building and community policing, plus his support of several SPF passion projects and initiatives, including Officer Wellness, the Mounted Patrol Unit, The IF Project women’s reentry program, the Seattle Police Activities League (SEAPAL), and others.

Chief Diaz has served as interim Chief of Police since the summer of 2020 and is expected to be officially sworn in by Mayor Bruce Harrell next week.

Congratulations Chief! We are excited to work with you and look forward to helping to improve the quality of life for the men and women of SPD and the Seattle community.

Respectfully,

The Seattle Police Foundation
