April 26, 2024

We're back with our Good Soil series this week where we will confront the challenges posed by weedy soil. This soil represents hearts that are choked by the cares and distractions of the world. We will explore the various weeds that can hinder spiritual growth, such as materialism, busyness and worldly pursuits. Through prioritization of our relationship with God and intentional removal of distractions, we seek to create fertile ground for God's Word to take root and flourish in our lives.

Jeff Kersey, Senior Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Bill Bouknight, Retired GMC Guest Pastor, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

Membership Class

Whether you are seeking information about the church or ready to join, you are invited to attend our Membership Class on Sunday, May 5 from 3 - 5 PM in Room 820. Those who wish to join the church will have that opportunity at the end of the class, and those not ready yet can return to a future class for additional information and/or join. You can register here or through our Mt. Horeb app.

Family Worship Night

Join us Wednesday, May 8 for Family Worship Night, led by our Kid’s Choir and Student Worship Team! This high-energy worship night for all generations will take place in the Auditorium at 6:30 PM. Afterward, we will have free ice cream treats for everyone. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors for this great night of worship.

Immersion Baptisms

May 19 is going to be a special day in the life of our church. On this Sunday, we will have the opportunity for any individual 5 years and up, who has never been baptized to make that important decision in front of the congregation. Baptism is a sacrament in the Global Methodist Church and one of the most powerful ways we identify with God’s family. Our baptismal pool will be set up in the Auditorium during both services. If you have never been baptized and would like to take this next step in your faith, we ask that you email baptism@mthorebchurch.org. and one of our pastors will contact you to discuss the next steps.

We can accept any brand. Please drop your donation in the labeled bin at the Missions Center (West Building next to the Guest Services desk) on Sunday mornings or at the Administrative offices while the church office is open. Announcement from our Staff Parish Relations Committee

Greetings. After much prayer and discernment, I have decided to resign from my pastoral position at Mt. Horeb Church, effective May 7th, to pursue other ministry endeavors. While this season at Mt. Horeb Church comes to a close, I am eternally grateful for the spiritual family I have gained. As one who has grown up in the amazing Mt. Horeb Student Ministry, it has been a great privilege to serve on staff at the church that our God used to shape me as a follower of Jesus Christ. I specifically would like to thank Pastor’s Jeff Kersey and Trevor Miller, as they were instrumental in teaching me about ministry in the local church. I would also like to say a

specific word of thanks to the entire congregation of Mt. Horeb Church, as I have gained relationships that I will cherish and continue pouring into for a lifetime. My prayer for the staff team, lay leadership, and congregation of Mt. Horeb is simple: the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 12:11, “Never be lazy, but let the Holy Spirit excite you as you serve the Lord!”

Blessings,

Bryce Holdman

We too are grateful for Bryce's service and ministry while serving here at Mt Horeb. We will be in prayer for you as you take this next step on God's journey.
