A recognition of the 50th anniversary of midwifery education at Georgetown University culminated with a celebratory symposium and dinner that brought together alumni, faculty, staff, clinical preceptors and students at the Healey Family Student Center.

Most Women Skipping Annual Mammograms, According to New MedStar Health Survey

A new survey from MedStar Health finds that most American women over age 40 are not screening for breast cancer through annual mammograms. Top reasons for not yet getting annual mammograms include simply not getting around to it (34%), having a normal mammogram in the past (21%), and not having a family history of breast cancer (17%).

Building upon the successes of the Global Health Policy & Politics Initiative, the Center for Global Health Policy & Politics aims to pioneer strong legal and political responses to improve global health equity, access and accountability. Through policy research, political analysis and strategic convening, the Center explores and addresses the political determinants of health and supports the creation of legal and policy environments that help stop pandemics, expand equity in access to medical technologies, tackle inequalities in health and save lives.
