I am getting the Hot Finds out late in the day because I have an extreme case of catching up today - my first and last day in the office this week. I am just about caught up on emails and other distractions and hope that next week will be productive.
Today I made a deal to add a very cool piece to my collection. I was offered a Hornaday Medal from the early 1970s from the guy that earned it. We talked on the phone about his project and his surprise that he was nominated for it in the first place. His project took about 1 1/2 years to complete and he was doing it for the good turn not to earn a recognition. One of his Scout leaders put him in for the award and he was surprised with the presentation. I don't have anything Hornaday in my collection so that's a keeper.
In case you missed it I did want to share that I will be at the 2024 South Carolina TOR hosted by Chris Jensen in January. You can find the flier right here. As always this one is at the Easley Rec Center and will feature silent auctions and lots of collectors from the southeast.
