The FreshRoots Directors Cup presented by the FCI board celebrates young and beginning farmers committed to continuous learning and intentional living for a brighter future for their farm family business and community. Three recipients will be selected and each will receive a $5,000 cash award and plaque.

Farm Family Succession Planning Resource

SIU Medicine’s Farm Family Resource Initiative is hosting a free virtual series, “Planning for the Farm's Future and Yours," to help farm families develop a succession plan. Wesley Tucker, farm and ranch transition specialist at the University of Missouri Extension, and Monica McConkey, agricultural mental health counselor from Minnesota will lead the series.

Illinois Leopold Conservation Award - Apply Now

FCI helps sponsor the Illinois Leopold Conservation Award® which recognizes agricultural landowners who inspire others with their dedication to ethical land, water, and wildlife habitat management. Farm and forest landowners may apply for this $10,000 award themselves or be nominated by May 1. The recipient is selected by an independent panel of agricultural and conservation leaders and will be announced this summer.

Ag Economy Barometer

The Ag Economy Barometer measures the health of the U.S. agriculture economy with an index value based on a survey of agricultural producers on economic sentiment. A score of 100 means producer sentiment is unchanged from the six-month baseline research period; a score higher than 100 means sentiment improved from the base period; a score lower than 100 means sentiment declined versus the base period.
