Welcome to our New Staff

Jerry Yost

Lehigh District Executive

jerome.yost@scouting.org

I have been involved with Scouting as a youth from Tiger Cubs through Arrow of Light, to Eagle Scout, to Venturing. As an adult I continued my service to Witauchsoman Lodge, serving as Chapter Adviser for Trexler District and Lehigh District. I have received the Order of the Arrow's Founder's Award and the Silver Beaver in 2019.

Outside of Scouting I enjoy sports (go Red Sox!), history, digital wellbeing, Dungeons and Dragons, and the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Like any respectable hobbit I enjoy good company and good food. I am a back-to-back champion in my fantasy football league and am working to launch a Pennsylvania branch of the Tolkien Society.”

Melissa Mohr

Northampton and Warren County District Executive

Melissa.Mohr@Scouting.org

Hello, my name is Melissa Mohr, I am the District Executive for the Districts of Northampton & Warren. My goal is to create a positive impact on my districts in membership, volunteers, and funding. I look to create lasting relationships with the volunteers leading the programs. I truly believe “teamwork makes the dream work”.

Prior to coming to the Minsi Trail Council I have a long history in the insurance industry. I’ve working in many capacities in insurance from training to sales, in corporate, agency, and as a freelance insurance educator. My unique background in client relationships, workflows and employee training gave me the opportunity to make a difference in the insurance industry.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. My 6 grandchildren keep me busy with spoiling them. I love to volunteer in the community in several ways. My volunteer experience includes everything from communication specialist, parade and event organizing to volunteering at Chamber events. I also love to write and have authored several books with more on the way. The grass is always greener where you water it!

Mary Sarkis

Mary.Sarkis@Scouting.org

District Associate

My name is Mary Sarkis, I am the District Associate for the Minsi Trails Council. My current role entails assisting the Director Executives for the Districts of Northampton, Lehigh & Warren.

Prior to coming into this role, I was in the automotive industry working as a service advisor. For Hyundai Dealerships.

I am a PROUD Pennsylvania State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business marketing/Management.

Outside of work, I love being in the gym, going for walks and just being active. I also love going to the beach and just spending quality time with my family.

My overall purpose as District associate is to make sure the DE’s and I work collaboratively as a team. I think a strong foundation within the team will give overall success within the council.

As you know, Scouting is so much more than camping. It prepares kids for life. Because of you, boys and girls throughout our nation are learning skills that can be critical during times of uncertainty including first aid, healthcare, fire and EMS, and law enforcement. Thank you for all you do to make it possible for kids to learn these lifesaving skills through Scouting.
