Our Bay Area premieres are finally here! We are excited that 100 Years From Mississippi will be screening live at the Berkeley Rialto Cinemas Elmwood Theatre on Thursday, March 17th at 7:30pm, featuring a post-film Q&A with Writer/Director Tarabu Betserai Kirkland, moderated by our Project Advisor and Director of Song for Cesar, Andres Alegria. Our San Francisco screening takes place at the Roxie Theatre on Sunday, March 20th at 2:00pm, (co-sponsored with the Freedom Archives), featuring a post-film talkback with Tarabu, Executive Producer Barry Shabaka Henley, and activist/Freedom Archives founder Claude Marks! Bay Area Friends: Spread the Word!
Thetheaters for both screenings are taking Covid precautions which include: proof of vaccination with photo ID to match; and indoor masks are required at all times unless actively eating or drinking. The date has been set! On Thursday, March 31st we'll be in Montgomery, Alabama to screen at the new state-of-the-art theater on the grounds of the Peace and Justice Memorial Center, This is an incredible honor and invitation from the Equal Justice Initiative, and this is a great opportunity to see the film live and visit this must see destination.
