June 2022
School may be out for the summer, but kitten season is now in session! Throughout the community, litters are lining up faster than kids at an ice cream truck. With adoptions low, shelters everywhere are filled to the brim. Your help is needed to #sharethecare and create healthy, positive outcomes for kittens and all adoptable animals.

While adoption is always an option, there are other crucial ways to help. First, educate yourself about what to do if you find a kitten litter (CliffsNotes version: don’t touch!). Watch our kitnap video and share it with others to teach them as well. Second, be prepared to assume care of any kittens you do rescue... if shelters remain full, space is limited so they may not be able to take them in. Together, we can save lives!
FEE-WAIVED ADOPTION EVENT: CATS & DOGS!

ADOPTERS NEEDED: SHARE THE CARE
Cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies are always waiting for adoption, but during kitten season, we experience an excess of pets who need a home.

The community's participation is critical to Valley Humane's lifesaving efforts. Share the Care advocates for adopting, promoting adoption, and spay/neutering — all things that make a big difference in the lives of homeless pets.

"We don't want anyone to adopt if they aren't ready, but we are asking the public to Share the Care... if you are ready for a new furry friend, please adopt. If not, adopt a shelter and help promote their adoptable animals." - Melanie Sadek, President, Valley Humane Society.
