City conducts temporary enhanced potable water disinfection process
The city has begun disinfecting treated water with a more potent free chlorine. This Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) approved process takes 30 days. The city has historically performed this treatment switch on a periodic basis so long-time residents may be familiar with the process.

During this time, water customers may notice a slight chlorine odor and taste to the water. As always, the water remains safe for drinking, bathing, and other daily activities. This is a temporary measure to continually provide quality consumable water.
