MOVE Minneapolis: Downtown Bike Day
All trails lead Downtown! With the momentum for the return to the office downtown, ABC Ramps Mobility Hub and Move Minneapolis are highlighting active transportation. Join us on Downtown Bike Day, Wednesday, June 1st, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Target Plaza, between Target Field and Target Center, to celebrate bike commuting, recreational riding, those curious about city biking, and MN Twins fans riding on game day. Let’s elevate new bike/pedestrian infrastructure, shared mobility, and secure bike parking that improve downtown access and safety. This is an educational event on bike amenities, safe routes, cool bike swag, and a celebration of Minneapolis being a top biking city.

Webinar: Wellness Panel and Healing Circles - In Celebration of Asian American Heritage Month and Minnesota American Indian Month
Hosted by the Hennepin County Engagement Services, this wellness panel and choice of healing circles are offered as part of an ongoing series to support the health and wellbeing of our community.

Panelists Seng Xiong, Nancy Bordeaux, and Renee Butters will talk about cultural traditions/practices for wellness.

Healers will draw upon their lived experience and expertise to guide separate healing circles to support community members and provide guidance for navigating our world.

Save the date for the inaugural mspWellness Champions Celebration! This event will celebrate and share success stories from businesses and organizations from across the region that have qualified as champions based on their workplace wellness initiatives. In addition, Dr. Nico Pronk of HealthPartners, a world renown expert on worksite health, will share insights about emerging best practices to help employers recover from the pandemic

May is Mental Health Awareness Month
May is a time to raise awareness of those living with mental or behavioral health issues and to help reduce the stigma so many experience. Nearly 1 in 5 U.S. adults suffer from a mental illness each year. Check out the resources below to learn more about what employers can do.


  • Mental Health America – Learn about how to create a culture of support, offer benefits that matter, normalize the conversation around mental health, and more.


  • Make It OK Campaign – A toolkit with materials on how to work on mental health stigma in the workplace.

The Minneapolis Health Department and the Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health 
Department are partners of the chamber in this effort with support from the Minnesota Department 
of Health’s Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) and Community Wellness Grant, which provides funding as a catalyst for creating healthier communities.
