Properly disposing of excess drugs is everyone’s responsibility as a matter of public safety. More than 70 percent of young people abusing prescription pain relievers get them through friends or family ---- a statistic that includes raiding the family medicine cabinet. Now Longwood citizens won’t have to wait for a specific take-back day to clean out their medicine cabinets.

The LPD MedReturn collection box is located in the front lobby of the Longwood Police Department, 235 West Church Avenue, and is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm (excluding major holidays). Drugs can be dropped off by citizens with no questions asked.

The following items CANNOT be placed in the MedReturn box:
**Liquids
**Needles/sharps

The Longwood Police Department is committed to providing a safe, simple, secure and environmentally friendly way to help our community collect unwanted or expired household medication -- including prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs and unused pharmaceuticals. Safely removing these items out of the community will help deter drug related crimes and potential overdose/addiction issues in the community.
The Longwood Police Department will host its 4th Annual Badges, Barbers, and Burgers event in July. This event provides school supplies, fresh hair cuts, and much, much more to students and families in need as they prepare for the 2022-23 school year!

Thank you Seminole County Sheriff's Office Aviation Unit for being our eyes in the sky!
The Longwood Police Department is grateful for the partnership it has with grassroots community organizations like GROW Central Florida, Inc.!

GROW provided sports balls for officers to hand out in the community this summer — not only to encourage physical fitness and good health but also to foster positive interactions between our officers and the youngest members of our community.

Our Officer Sandoval had an opportunity to share!

Please remember:
  • The Meter Team and Trucks will be clearly identified as Nation Metering Service.
  • The Meter Team does not need access inside your home.
  • You will experience a short service interruption during replacement (typically 1-hour max).
  • The Meter Team will ensure that any surrounding landscape will be returned to its pre-existing condition.
