HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

The next Arts Around the Fire will be

Wednesday, January 17

featuring photographer and owner of CUSP Gallery Curtis Speer,

who has created the newly formed Newport Artists Collective supporting galleries and independent artists in the area.

The Collective's Salon Series in the library at the Brenton Hotel meets every Thursday evening from 5pm-7pm at the Brenton and hosts a different artist each week, bringing awareness to the Newport community as the what the art scene is comprised of, be it a gallery owner who represents several artists or an artist with a studio that potential clients can visit.

We look forward to seeing you in the new year.

Anton Genberg: Afternoon Mood

In his painting, Anton Genberg used different shades of grey to show the texture of the snow. From the lighter shade of grey, that’s almost white, in the foreground, to the dark grey colour used to show the layer of snow covering the mountains in the background. He showed the texture and sledges marks in the snow with distinctive brush strokes.

He also used texture to paint the clouds. However, in that part of the painting, he applied more of a yellow colour, showing the sunshine behind the clouds.

Please consider signing up for an artist membership ($25) or become a supporting member of the Alliance

All members are able to submit notices for ACA'a monthly SPLASH! Newsletter and all members are invited to apply for our various scholarships and arts awards.
