Ms. Cindy Meador Retires

The Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences would like to share a large "thank you, farewell and happy retirement" to Ms. Cindy Meador who completed 35 years

of service to West Texas A&M University!

In 1988, the Department of Life, Earth, and Environmental Sciences welcomed Ms. Meador to the team.

She received a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry in 1981

and an M.S. in Biology in 1988,

both degrees from West Texas A&M University.

Microbiology was the area of Ms. Meador's research interests. Ms. Meador was an advisor for Pre-Med,

Pre-Dental, and Secondary Science students in Biology

and a co-sponsor of the Tri Beta National Biological Honor Society. She belongs to the Panhandle Archaeology Society.

“Ms. Meador was a great team player for the Department of Life, Earth, and Environmental Sciences. She was always willing to help out, whether it was teaching an extra class,

serving on committees, or advising extra students. She was a dedicated instructor who contributed greatly to the teaching of general biology and microbiology. We will miss her greatly.”

-Dr. David Sissom, Associate Dean of Science, Professor of Biology

While her retirement is richly deserved, Ms. Meador will not become too much of a stranger,

as she anticipates advising new students to LEES during Orientations this summer!
