Glenwood Avenue to be closed at Smith Well Road from Monday to Wednesday
Residents will have access in and out of Smith Well Road
Glenwood Avenue will be closed at Smith Well Road next week to allow a city contractor complete utility work in the intersection. Motorists will be detoured around the work area via Horne Street and Glencrest Avenue.
The shutdown will occur from Monday, Aug. 21, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be closed again beginning at 7 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, and continue through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23.
Overnight water shutoff for Smith Well Road residents on Tuesday
To allow utility work, water service is scheduled to be shut off to Smith Well Road, Barry Street, and nearby residences on Glenwood Avenue from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Properties affected by the water shutoff will receive a paper notice at their residence at least 24 hours in advance.
The utility work is related to the construction of the Smith Well water tank.
