Two years after her husband passed away, Mrs. E found herself at a crossroads. While navigating the path of rebuilding her life, a co-worker's gentle encouragement sparked a glimmer of inspiration—to channel her energy into a meaningful personal goal. She set her sights on becoming a U.S. Citizen.
Earlier this year, Mrs. E reached out to JFS' Immigration & Citizenship Services to apply for naturalization and begin citizenship classes at JFS. We are happy to report that on August 11, Mrs. E passed her interview and was sworn in as a U.S. Citizen:
"I was happy to share with my classmate my experience. This has been a great opportunity. I am very happy and grateful to have become a U.S. Citizen."
When asked what she is looking forward to doing as a new U.S. Citizen, Mrs. E noted she's excited to register to vote and to apply for a U.S. passport. Through resilience, determination, and a supportive community, Mrs. E's story stands as a testament to finding hope amidst loss and forging a triumphant second act.
