Last week we welcomed Kevin Carrico, Jacksonville City Council District Four. Carrico gave us an update on how things are looking, not only in Jax Southside’s 4th district, but in Jacksonville as a whole. His priorities are on quality of life and safety. Carrico mentioned that Ivy Road Park will be undergoing some much needed improvement, as well as his excitement on the recent opening (just last week) of the brand new Southside senior center off of Beach Blvd. There was also a short discussion on the pedestrian safety bill which is aimed to keep people safe and keep panhandling out of travel lanes of traffic. Things seem to be moving in a positive direction for Jacksonville! | |
We are entering the last quarter of the year which means we have a lot of great events coming up. Check the calendar and get signed up. (Annual Clay Shoot 9/23, this Friday, SBMC Car Show 10/22, Annual Jags Tailgate 10/23, Veterans Day float 11/11.)
This week we host Meteorologist Richard Nunn who will be giving us an update on this year’s hurricane season.
