Sustain TBC with Sweet Honey
Send Rosh Hashanah tidings to TBC friends and staff!

As Rosh Hashanah approaches, it is time to send honey and sweet New Year greetings to your TBC friends and loved ones. The ordering deadline is September 23. Don't miss out on the opportunity!

This year, this annual fundraiser will fund break fast following Yom Kippur services in our beloved building (Covid willing), which we have not been able to do in some time. Specific precautions will be announced closer to this event.

TBC Sisterhood made a very significant contribution to close TBC's end-year operating deficit; and so we truly appreciate and need your support of this honey fundraiser.

As in prior years, TBC members have multiple sponsorship levels for giving opportunities. Each sponsor level sends one jar of local honey to every TBC member family, clergy and staff:
  • Super Bee Hive - $1,000
  • Chai Bee Hive - $540
  • B'nai Bee Hive - $360
  • Honey Bee Hive - $180

Alternatively you can give honey to particular congregants within TBC, or choose to reciprocate to those who send honey to you. This is a nice way to send a sweet "thank you" to your child's religious school teacher/tutor. You may send individual jars to members, clergy or staff. The first jar of honey to member families, clergy and staff is $12.00 to the first family and each subsequent jar is $8. Click here to order online. Questions? Email honey@templebnaichaim.org.
Thank you to everyone who came out to help get our Religious School Wing ready for our students this week! A very big "Todah Rabbah" goes to...

  • Barbara Massy Bear for her expert Bulletin board decorating
  • Dara Marceau for helping to organize and tidy the Religious School Office area
  • Jennifer & Murray Siegel as well as Rachel & Joe Sondheimer for their integral work in organizing the Book Closet and helping to clear off the Conference table
  • Sunil & Jason Katz for their help in moving boxes of machzorim into storage and stacking chairs in preparation for carpet cleaning
  • Rachel, Ariel & Shira Langberg for their amazing work at organizing the Religious School Art Closet
  • Julia, Nina & Noah Saunders for moving chairs, cleaning off the Conference table and wrapping up the last of the tasks!
Be a Teen Madrich at TBC!

Cantor Harriet & Morah Ellie are looking for a few more teens to join the Madrichim Program next year. Madrichim work with our Religious School teachers in the classroom during Sunday Mornings from 9:30am-11:30am. The program includes 6 Training Workshops which will take place on the following Sundays (9/18, 10/16, 11/13, 12/11, 1/22 & 2/26) from 11:45am-1pm after Religious School in our newly established Teen Lounge with Morah Ellie. All hours spent working in the Madrichim Program count for any required or desired Community Service and all students will receive a formal letter at the end of the year!

Please contact Morah Ellie for more information or if you have any questions.

To register for the Madrichim Program, please submit the 2022-2023 Religious School Registration Form.
In this issue of Chailites we thank the following individuals who generously contributed to TBC during July 2022. To everyone who has supported TBC, we offer you our most sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude.

Ava Rabinowitz's Bat Mitzvah Project!
“Hi, I’m Ava Rabinowitz, and for my Bat Mitzvah project, I decided to partner with Donate2Dance, an organization that helps provide dance equipment to communities in need.

"Dance has been an important part of my life and I would like to help other young dancers have the best dance experience possible regardless of their means.

"I will collect new/lightly used costumes and dance wear. Dance wear includes: dance shoes, leotards, and tights. I will be donating what I collect to dancers who don’t have access to proper equipment. Please donate costumes or shoes if you can, but if you do not have items to donate you can instead make a monetary donation that I will use to purchase supplies.”

A special box will be available at TBC through September for donating dance items; monetary donations may be made using the TBC donation form for the Social Action / Tzedakah fund with an indication that it's for Ava Rabinowitz's bat mitzvah project.
Share Your Simcha! TBC congregants are invited to share news of their family events and celebrations in Chailites. Please send your information to chailites@templebnaichaim.org.
TBC is Here For You!

If you or a family member is ill or in need of care - or if you know of someone in our community who needs help - please contact Cantor Harriet. Our Caring Committee is here to provide assistance - meals, rides to doctors' appointments or shopping.

It is traditional to light a memorial candle at home on the eve of the yahrzeit. You may also find it meaningful while kindling the yahrzeit candle to offer prayers of remembrance or reflect on your loved one’s life. Many also choose this time to make monetary donations in memory of loved ones
