Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarships Application Now Open

Applications are open for the newest round of Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarships. The March 9, 2023 deadline is for in-person programs or internships that begin between May 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024. Find more information about the application process on the Gilman website.


These scholarships are open to undergraduate students at US universities who are the recipients of Federal Pell Grants. The Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarship Program provides 40 additional scholarships for U.S. undergraduate students per year to study and/or intern for academic credit in Germany through the Gilman Program.


The Gilman Program is a program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) with funding provided by the U.S. government and is supported in its implementation by the Institute of International Education (IIE). The Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarships are supported by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany with funds from the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).

CfA: DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Program

"Global Dynamics of Social Policy and Social Cohesion"


The Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS) invites applications for two scholarships for international doctoral researchers in its new Graduate School Scholarship Program "Global Dynamics of Social Policy and Social Cohension" funded by DAAD. Successful applicants will receive a Ph.D. scholarship from DAAD of 1,200 euros a month (plus additional benefits) for 48 months.

The DWIH San Francisco invites you to its second online matchmaking that brings together accelerators based in U.S. universities with accelerators based in German universities. The topic will be on women and entrepreneurship, particularly on how higher-education accelerators can better tailor their programs to aspiring women entrepreneurs.

DAAD Alumni Association USA Annual Awards


The DAAD Alumni Association USA is currently accepting nominations for two annual awards. The first is given annually to someone who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to academic and cultural exchange between Germany and the USA. The DAAD Alumni Association is also pleased to award the Mid-Career Professional Award for Accomplishments in International Education between the USA and Germany. Find more information on each award and how to nominate at the link below.

Call for Applications

DAAD Networking Tour "Generative Models in Machine Learning"


Twice a year, DAAD selects a group of outstanding postdoctoral researchers and experienced PhD candidates worldwide to participate in the Postdoctoral Networking Tour in Artificial Intelligence (Postdoc-NeT-AI). The fellowship includes a Virtual Networking Week and a one-week travel stipend with plenty of opportunities to personally connect with leading researchers and research institutions from all over Germany. Fellows will also become part of the DAAD AInet Fellows and Alumni Network, thus expanding and strengthening the cooperation within the group and with the German research community. The tour will take place from April 24-28, 2023.
