Digi Talk Fall

2023

1 Thessalonians 5:18 - In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Dear Friends of AUDIOBOOK Ministries,

As the leaves begin to change and a cozy chill fills the air, we are excited to reconnect with you in our Fall Newsletter. Your support has been instrumental in our mission to bring the joy of literature and knowledge to those who are visually impaired. We are grateful for your continued partnership and the positive impact we are making together.

Here's what's happening at AUDIOBOOK Ministries this Fall:

1. **New Audiobook Releases**: We've been hard at work producing new audiobooks that cater to a wide range of interests. Whether it's classic literature, self-help, or the latest bestsellers, we strive to provide a diverse selection for our listeners. With 4 new narrators, we are able to increase our production.

2. **Enhanced Accessibility**: Our commitment to accessibility is stronger than ever. We are constantly updating our platform to ensure an enjoyable listening experience for everyone, including those with disabilities. You will see later in the newsletter that I am looking for help from our patrons.

3. **Community Engagement**: We are actively engaging with our community through conventions and mission Sundays. These activities provide an excellent opportunity for our patrons to connect with us and share what services we have available.

4. **Volunteer Opportunities**: AUDIOBOOK Ministries thrives on the dedication of our volunteers. If you have time to spare and a passion for audiobooks, consider joining our team of dedicated volunteers. There are many ways to get involved, from narrating books to assisting with technical support.

5. **Fundraising Efforts**: Your support is crucial to our sustainability. We will be launching a Fall Fundraising Campaign to ensure that we can continue to expand our collection and maintain our commitment to making audiobooks accessible to all. This is the end of the year giving campaign, and many of you will receive a letter from us soon.

6. **Feedback Welcome**: We value your input and encourage you to reach out with your suggestions and ideas for improving our services. Together, we can make AUDIOBOOK Ministries even better.

7. **Upcoming Events**: Keep an eye out for exciting events in the coming months, including our annual Holiday potluck I will let you know as soon as I have a date.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and belief in our mission. Together, we are making the world of literature more accessible to all, regardless of their physical limitations. Your generosity and enthusiasm inspire us every day.

If you have any questions, or ideas, or would like to get involved, please don't hesitate to reach out. Our team is always here to listen.

Thank you once again for being a vital part of AUDIOBOOK Ministries. Wishing you a cozy and blessed Season. I will be sending out a Christmas message when we get into December. As for now, have a blessed Thanksgiving.

If you know anyone who is a grant writer and would like to join the AUDIOBOOK Ministries team, please let us know. You do not need to be local.

RAISING HANDS

Raising Hands is an annual event hosted by The Tulalip Tribes Tulalip Cares to honor recipient charities in different community impact categories. At Tulalip it is traditional to raise our hands to applaud and give thanks to those who have given to us. We raise our hands to the numerous organizations in our region that contribute to our communities.

2023 annual convention of Washington Council of the Blind

Attending the convention was great! We were able to meet some of our patrons, and spread the word about what AUDIOBOOK Ministries offers. It was also a great time to network and remind us why we do what we do.

Exciting news!

We are getting our new website up and running so that we can start downloading books again. The process should be easier than before. We are looking for a couple of people who are visually impaired and use computers to check out the website and give us feedback on suggested improvements. We can also give these folks a password to test out the download feature, as we are still working on it. What would make it more user friendly?

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

O Heavenly Father: we thank Thee for food and remember the hungry. We thank Thee for health and remember the sick. We thank Thee for friends and remember the friendless. We thank Thee for freedom and remember the enslaved. May these remembrances stir us to service that Thy gifts to us may be used for others. Amen. - “Dear Abby” Columnist
