Vehicle Crashes Into Business in Springfield
On June 24, 2022 at around 9:15 a.m., deputies from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office were called to Nature’s Design Hair Salon located at 257 N 20th Street in the City of Springfield, concerning a vehicle that had crashed into the business and in the process hit a gas main and sheered it off causing a large gas leak in the area. No one in the business was injured due to the accident. A white male driver took off from the scene of the accident prior to deputies arriving. 

Due to the gas leak, N 20th Street was closed while Semco Gas company worked to turn off the gas and secure the scene to make it safe.

Investigation of the accident shows that the truck had been stolen earlier out of the City of Battle Creek. The truck was turned over to Battle Creek Police Department.
