We hope everyone had a great summer and you’re all raring to go for Fall 2022, as are all of us here at Texas College Bridge!
With more than 500 school districts across the state signed up to participate in Texas College Bridge, we are more excited than ever to help students get college ready and earn a TSI exemption at participating colleges and universities. We ended this past year with close to 24,000 students earning their English TSI exemption and right at 35,000 students earning their math TSI exemption through Texas College Bridge.
More than 85% of Texas Community Colleges Participate
Over the spring and summer, 16 colleges and universities, some with multiple locations, signed MOUs with Texas College Bridge, including new partners in the metro areas of Houston, San Antonio and Corpus Christi. As a result, we are pleased to share that Texas College Bridge is now accepted as an indicator of college readiness by more than 85% of the state’s community colleges.
Resources and Support for Higher Ed Partners
To support our partners in higher education, Texas College Bridge will be hosting a PLC session for IHE contacts on September 26 at 3:30 p.m.. The PLC will provide a structured opportunity to exchange ideas and explore best practices for Texas College Bridge, and it is our intention that this will be an ongoing forum for the higher ed community.
We’ve also added a newResources Page to our website, providing one consolidated location for all the key resources for our partners, as well as for students. Here you will find downloadable guides and checklists as well as more resources in our help center.
We are also now offering 1:1 Help Sessions to assist our IHE and ISD partners with their questions about the program, as well as the opportunity to host a session for our IHE partners and your locally participating ISDs.
If you’re interested in scheduling a 1:1 to plan for implementation including organizing a session especially for your local ISD partners, just click here!
Help Us Monitor Progress
Many of you are already adding a college waiver code to your incoming student accounts. To help us evaluate the effectiveness of our program, we ask that you please add a specific waiver code for Texas College Bridge students. By differentiating this code, you will be able to report comparative data following the first semester and help us establish an evidence base of program outcomes. Thanks for your help in making Texas College Bridge a success!
Please feel free to share this email with district and campus CCMR leaders, curriculum and instruction staff and high school principals or with anyone you think might be interested.
