A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Greetings Primary Families,


I hope everyone enjoyed time with family and friends during our recent break. Our Winter Concert is coming up on December 5th. The students have been working hard and are looking forward to their performance. We hope to see you there.


Please remember that our doors do not open until 7:30 a.m. With the winter weather upon us, please be sure students are dressed appropriately for the weather. We do go outdoors daily weather permitting. Please contact the office at 715-735-2500 should you need assistance with securing winter gear for your student.


A big shout out to Mrs. Schewe for filling in for me during my time off.

PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWS & HAPPENINGS

Please be sure that your child is dressed for the winter weather. Children should have a warm coat, hat, boots, gloves, and snow pants to wear outdoors for recesses. If you need assistance acquiring these garments for your student, please contact the office at 715-735-2500.

Tardiness

Studies show that school tardiness has a negative impact on learning outcomes.

By arriving late and missing school hours, students receive fewer hours of instruction than students who are in class when the bell rings. Researchers found that students who are frequently late to school miss out on important opening announcements and academic activities Tardiness also means that students miss out on activities designed to build connections with their peers, impacting their social interactions.

In addition, students who consistently arrive to school late often establish bad punctuality habits. Being

Perfect ATTENDANCE

We had students with perfect attendance this month.students in 4K,students in 5K, and students in grade one. Attendance winners by class for the month of October are as follows:

4K - Mrs. Behrend's classroom with 95.8%

5K - Mrs. Schwaba's classroom with 94.5%

1st - Mrs. Borth's classroom with 95.5 %

Would you like to help support our students? We will have many opportunities for volunteering throughout the upcoming school year. We are looking for individuals to read to students, assist with classroom events, as well as field trips, and PTO. All volunteers need to be enrolled. Food Service Information

The cost for meals are as follows:

Breakfast $1.30

Lunch $3.00

Breakfast tags are needed on your child's backpack

for your student to eat breakfast. Please contact the office if you need one. Meals will be billed to your students account. If you think you may be eligible for free and reduced meals, please fill out this 

form and return it to office.

MENUS

Attendance Policy

The Marinette School District expects 100% attendance for all students in accordance with the laws of Wisconsin. Parents are only allowed by state law to excuse their children for up to 10 days per school year.

*Excused Absence: Illness, doctor appointment, accident or death in the family.. Parents must call the school by 9:00 a.m. each day of an absence. A written notice of excuse must be given to the school upon return. If the student is out for an appointment, a doctor's note is required.

*Tardiness: A student who arrives after 8:05 am will be considered tardy and must be signed in by a parent/guardian. Students who arrive after 10:00 a.m. will be considered absent for the morning.

*Request for Early Dismissal: Parents/guardians requesting to pick up a child early for any reason must call the school building prior to picking up the child early. If a student leaves early prior to 2:00 p.m. it will be considered a half day absence.  Parents may also contact your child's teacher through SeeSaw.

*Unexcused absences: constitutes truancy and five unexcused absences is habitual truancy by state law.
