Better Speech & Hearing Month: Dylan's Progress

Dylan is an active and friendly 5-year-old boy who loves fishing, skating, playing soccer and being outside on his bike and scooter. Dylan started speech therapy at age two and was later diagnosed with apraxia of speech. Apraxia makes it difficult for children to carry out the movements of producing speech, even when they understand language and know what they want to say. Through his growth with speech therapist Joanna, Dylan has made significant strides in his ability to communicate and be understood.

"A lot of patience, love and repetition goes a long way," Dylan's family shares. "With all the wonderful support he gets with Easterseals, the school district, his family and friends, he will reach his goals."

Building Healthy Families & Inclusive Communities

Kudos to Alan Baer and Family!

In celebration of his 77th birthday, Alan Baer walked 77 miles over 7 days to support the Philly Baer Fund at Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley. His Facebook fundraising efforts with matching gifts raised nearly $53,000!

The Philly Baer Foundation was established in memory of Alan’s grandson, Philly. Their objective is to improve the lives of children and their families by supporting medical research and providing access to healthcare and therapies.

Thank you to the Philly Baer Foundation and the supporters who are helping to ensure children get the care they need!
