Dylan is an active and friendly 5-year-old boy who loves fishing, skating, playing soccer and being outside on his bike and scooter. Dylan started speech therapy at age two and was later diagnosed with apraxia of speech. Apraxia makes it difficult for children to carry out the movements of producing speech, even when they understand language and know what they want to say. Through his growth with speech therapist Joanna, Dylan has made significant strides in his ability to communicate and be understood.
"A lot of patience, love and repetition goes a long way," Dylan's family shares. "With all the wonderful support he gets with Easterseals, the school district, his family and friends, he will reach his goals."
