New senior homes provide the perfect little solutions to dire living situations
Theresa Davidson had been living in a hotel since a fire destroyed her home. Oscar Davis had been living in a dilapidated home with no electricity or running water. His dream was simply to have a decent home so that his young granddaughter could visit him.

Today, they each have beautiful new cozy homes in Lanett, the hometown of Fuller Center for Housing founder Millard Fuller thanks to the Chattahoochee Fuller Center Project, volunteers and sponsors. Ms. Davidson and Mr. Davis are now next-door neighbors, each with comfortable, safe homes of about 780 square feet each. They each have two bedrooms, one bath and convenient kitchens and living space. It’s part of the CFCP’s new senior homes initiative, the first two of which were dedicated on Saturday.

The houses are the 72nd and 73rd built by the Chattahoochee Fuller Center Project. This means that the two built during their Oct. 9-14, 2022 Millard Fuller Legacy Build will get them to the 75-home milestone! And you can be a part of it. I'll be there and hope to see you on the job site with us for this landmark event!

As you can see from the rest of this email newsletter, The Fuller Center for Housing is busy here in the United States and around the world. In fact, we are on track to break our record for the number of Global Builders trips in one year. (And by "break," I actually mean smash! More on that later this year.)

None of this would be possible without your generosity and your support. If you would like to make a contribution today to keep this positive energy spreading in a time when hope is desperately needed, please click here.

Again, thank you for your continued support of our affordable housing ministry. Please read on!

How Sophie Davina's song of gratitude built this home in Haiti

The mud shack where Rosana Joseph was raising her family in Pignon, Haiti, was in horrible condition. Today, though, she is happy because her family is in a simple, decent home that came about because our founders' granddaughter wanted to leverage the release of a new song — "Look Back on Every Blessing" — to make a difference in someone's life. It did that and more! Now, Rosana is saying thanks.
Children will no longer have to call metal wagon their home

The Fuller Center for Housing of Armenia helped a family who had been living in a metal wagon while they struggled to complete the home they started long ago. The Fuller Center stepped in to help them get the job done. "We are glad that children in the family will not have to live with the burden of homelessness and will enjoy carefree childhood,” FCH Armenia President Ashot Yeghiazaryan said.
Ann Coleman: This was all part of a plan — God's, not mine

Ann never planned to become a Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure fundraising juggernaut who has generated tens of thousands of dollars for affordable housing. She also did not set out to start the first Fuller Center covenant partner in the state of Utah, nor play a part in seeing three more develop in the past two years. Today, she is convinced that it was God's plan coming together all along.
First home in Portugal dedicated

Daciano Lisboa, 70, has never really had a simple, decent place to live. Single with no children, he had been living in a two-room home that had only a kitchen and a bedroom — and those two rooms were not even connected, forcing him to go outside to get from one to another. Daciano now has a completely refurbished home that will allow him to age in place with comfort and safety, and it's our first completed project with our partners in Portugal!

While our four-week Underground Railroad ride ends this coming weekend, our cross-country ride hit Duluth, Minn., today, will reach Ashland, Wis., on Friday and then Ontonagon, Mich., on Saturday — three states in three days. The ride ends July 30 when they reach the Atlantic Ocean in Portland, Maine. To catch up on all the photos, videos, blogs and updates from the rides, please check them out on Facebook.
Geral Joseph is setting the standard for leadership in Haiti

The last couple of years have been brutal for much of Haiti as political turmoil and gang violence have gripped the nation, while natural disasters have added to the misery. In Pignon, though, Geral Joseph keeps The Fuller Center's work thriving, which is welcome news for families living in shacks and local masons and carpenters in need of work. Don't miss this profile of a quiet man who gets the job done!
U.S. covenant partners need volunteers to finish homes

Our partners at the Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing would love some help installing cabinets and floors in Hammond, Louisiana. Our friends at the Crisp-Dooly Fuller Center are in the middle of a project in Vienna, Georgia, that got a boost from Wittenberg University students (pictured) in the spring. These and other partners would love to host your U.S. Builders Team and complete the work.
