March 26, 2025

I will serve joyfully, lead confidently, and inspire others through my faith in Jesus.

Greetings From Mr. Estes...

Dear SASEAS Families,

Although Easter is later on our calendar this year I am beginning to see other signs of spring that create a little extra hope in my day and joy in my week. I am always glad to see the gray days of February pass and the sunsets arrive a little later each day. This change stood out to me as I was leaving an evening meeting earlier this week amidst a fair amount of daylight.

I was invited to attend the St Mary Magdalene Parish Council meeting this past Monday evening  to speak about the school, sort of an informal “state of the school address”. If you aren’t already aware, our parish council consists of members of all three churches; St Veronica’s principal was invited to speak  as well. I greatly appreciated the opportunity to report to people who may not have students in the school how well SASEAS School is doing and the wonderful things that are happening in our community. I also enjoyed being able to  emphasize that our school is an important extension of St Andrew and St Elizabeth Ann Seton parishes; combined with St Veronica parish and school we are a critical component of the St Mary Magdalene parish family’s mission to teach and live the Gospel of Jesus. I am grateful to the committee for inviting me and to each of them for embracing the need to take an active role in the growth and development of our parish family.

While I’m on the topic of actively participating in our parish and school, I want to once again thank the numerous community members who contribute to the success that I was able to convey to the parish council. As I mentioned at the meeting, it is challenging to create a vibrant parish without a vibrant school and it is nearly impossible to create a vibrant school without a vibrant parish; our need to work together is essential to our livelihood. From my perspective, the acceptance of this amongst the St Mary Magdalene Family community is playing a significant role in our continued growth.

I know this has already been sent out through a constant contact notification but I want to remind everyone of the opportunity to participate in the planning and execution of our annual SASEAS Golf Scramble to benefit our students. Thank you in advance for considering this; there will be an initial planning meeting on Thursday, March 27, at 6:30 in Mrs. Auterson’s 4th grade classroom. Not a golfer ? No problem, all are welcome!

Please see the reminder section for details concerning upcoming events.

Make it a great week!
