Where has the time gone? As we find ourselves in the middle of September, it is hard to believe that we are 3/4 of the way through 2022. So much has happened this year, but perhaps the most notable is that the College celebrated the milestone of 20 years of the regulation of denturists under the Health Professions Act! Congratulations to all those who were there at the inception of the College and to all denturists and a huge thank you for all the College Councils, committee members, other volunteers, and staff members who have made this College a leader in the Alberta regulatory landscape. Through this, we continue to evolve in response to both practice and legislative changes, but we could not do it without you. Thank you for being active in your profession's regulation.
As we look towards the fall, many wheels are still turning. New Standards of Practice, new regulations, new HPA amendments, new Bylaws, and the College's first strategic plan are all on the horizon. These changes, among others, will propel the College into the next 20 years and provide the next foundational layer upon which we may continue to build and bolster.
Going forward, please continue to be involved providing your thoughts, feedback and expertise. Without this, the model of co-regulation is not possible; it can't work without it.
Albertans thank you.
