Cardinal Ritter High School Alumni Newsletter
June 2022
Message from the President of Cardinal Ritter

Dear Raider Alumni,

We finished out this school year graduating 131 seniors. We are so excited for their next journey. On June 16th we held our annual Alumni Association meeting and elected the following alumni to serve on the executive board.

  • President – Claire Carr Maxson
  • Vice President – Pat Terrell
  • Secretary/Treasurer – Steve Rutledge

Thank you all for agreeing to serve next year.

Tasked with revising the Alumni Association by-laws, the Alumni board will meet again in August to make revisions if necessary.

A huge thank you to the upcoming reunion classes who participated in the “Pay it Forward Challenge”. We have had a great response and will be announcing the winning class in a few weeks.

Again thank you to our Capital Campaign donors. We have completed our new front entrance and guidance addition and are ready to move on to our next project which is an athletic field house renovation. This renovation will include a cheer and wrestling room along with concession and storage. Please consider helping us with our latest project. A donation of $100 will put your name or class on a brick to be used in the front sidewalk to the new area.
Thank you so much for all your support and belief in our mission

God Bless,
Jo Hoy
Message from the President of the Alumni Association
Hello fellow alumni,

All receiving this newsletter are members of the alumni association. Welcome to our newest additions – the class of 2022! As alumni, we are called to show support of each other as well as our alma mater through prayer, recruitment, and financial contributions. And, remember, the motto of “Dare to be Different” is not just a phrase. It is a reminder to always be yourself and to celebrate those around you in the same way.

All of you also have the opportunity to increase your participation as alumni by joining the alumni board. These members assist in the planning of events sponsored by the alumni association, spreading the word to classmates of upcoming opportunities, and even writing this newsletter. Please consider participating.

If your class graduation year ends in a 2 or a 7, it is your year for a reunion! If you are interested in helping plan your class's reunion please contact John Melton once again. Some reunion planning committees are off and running while others are still looking for a lead to get things rolling. My class will be having our 25th reunion September 24. This is the same day as the alumni golf outing and during Homecoming weekend. We will be making a whole weekend out of it. Mark your calendars now for the Homecoming game Friday September 23. And start getting your foursome together for the golf outing!

This newsletter is meant to inform fellow alumni of the great things you are doing but remember we need your help in order to do so! What you have been up to? Fill us in on your travels, life experiences, achievements, volunteer work, etc. You can submit news directly at https://www.cardinalritter.org/alumni-newsletter/. If you see a former classmate too humble to toot their own horn, share it for them!

Message from the CRHS Alumni Coordinator
Hello,

“Miles, Christi, Sum”. I am a soldier of Christ!” This was Cardinal Joseph Ritter’s motto. Cardinal Ritter High School opened its doors in 1964 and has embodied this mission statement ever since and has persevered to instill this into each student who has entered the doors. Cardinal Ritter High School is a diverse community that is challenged each and every day to live this motto. Cardinal Ritter High School is a Roman Catholic School that provides an academically rigorous education for our diverse student population, and our students are challenged to grow in Mind, Body, and Soul, educationally, athletically, and spiritually, and to engage in charitable stewardship of unique talents and abilities.

In my new position as Alumni coordinator it has been so rewarding to connect with our graduates. We want our alumni to be proud of what Cardinal Ritter High School continues to be, a High School that provides opportunities to increase an understanding of our Catholic and Christian heritage, gospel values, and faith traditions.

Good, Better, Best, never let it rest, until the good is better and the better is best! These are words that shaped us, and were a corner stone to our foundation, and made us think of how our world should be, and can be…..and how we as Alumni to can continue to make Cardinal Ritter High School the best it can be. “Miles, Christi, Sum…..I am a soldier of Christ”. Please reach out if you have any questions or just want to visit! Proud to be a Raider!
