Leaving Behind A Legacy
of Educational Excellence

Dr. David Hicks left a legacy of educational excellence that will be felt for generations to come. To support higher education, his family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Sherman Education Foundation or the Northwest ISD Education Foundation, Inc.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Waldo Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at Sherman High School in the Competition Gym, and the viewing will be held 1 pm Saturday in the Competition Gym. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm.

This week is College Week, and you guys rocked it with dressing up as twins! It's important for our students to receive a higher education, be it at a traditional four-year university, a junior college, or a vocational school. |

SEF ArtsFest 5-K and Bubble-K Set For Sept. 17 |
|
ArtsFest is nearly upon us, and that means it's nearly time for the Sherman Education Foundation 5K and Bubble-K Fun Run!
There will be prizes for the Top 3 Campuses with highest participation (percentage based on campus enrollment). First prize will be catering for campus faculty by the Bearcat Grill (complete with publicity and fanfare) and 2nd & 3rd prizes will be $250 each for the campus Faculty Activity Fund!

Sherman ISD Celebrates National Substitute Appreciation Week |

Substitutes are important to ensuring the continuity of a student's education and relieving some of the pressure off our teachers. They are the ultimate get-it-done people, and SISD thanks them for their work! Watch the videos below highlighting just a few of subs across the district. |

COVID Reporting: If you test positive for COVID-19, please notify your supervisor and remember to complete the online reporting form found at COVID Reporting Form Link.
Dates for Retirement: As you are aware, SISD pays you for a portion of unused local leave at retirement. This is in accordance to Board Policy DEC(Local). If a professional contracted employee intends to retire at the end of the fall 2022 semester, he or she must submit a letter of resignation, indicating they intend to retire, to Human Resources no later than 4:00pm on Friday, September 16, 2022. If a non-contracted employee intends to retire at the end of the semester and desires payment for local sick leave, then he or she must submit a letter of resignation to Human Resources no later than two weeks prior to the last day of the semester. If a retiring SISD employee does not meet this requirement, he or she will not be paid for any local sick leave upon retirement as determined by SISD Board Policy.
