Great Lakes Water Levels, Shoreline Issues Presented, Tuesday, August 16
The public is invited to hear Keith Termaat speak on Great Lakes Water Levels and Related Shoreline Issues on August 16 at the Historic Elk Rapids Town Hall (HERTH). A native of the Netherlands, Termaat grew up with an abiding interest in the management of coastal waters and lands. He is the founder and president of TNN, Township Neighbors Network. Please join us for an informative presentation. Donations accepted. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. at the Hall, located at 401 River St., Elk Rapids. The event is hosted by the Rotary Club of Elk Rapids.

Featuring the works of Carrie C & Charles Murphy, this dynamic duo in life and in art are offering paintings in Oil, Acrylic and Watercolor. Join us for a “meet & greet” with the artists at an outdoor reception on Saturday, August 20th from 3 to 5pm.
As a long standing artist with Twisted Fish, Charles Murphy is known for his expansive expertise in multiple mediums offered from highly representational & illustrative work to abstracted landscapes.
We are excited to collaborate with Carrie C Murphy whose work is a reflection of her love of our natural surroundings. Together, this pair share home and creative space- making for some fun discussion of how the two develop and creatively communicate through their canvases.
The special Murphy PAIRING will be featured in the living room of our Cottage Gallery until September 10.

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 AM
Held at the Elk Rapids Memorial Park Beach. After years of teaching, this is my own combination of exercises. The Pilates Method is combined with a medley of strength, balance, and cardio exercises. Please bring a set of weights, 3-6 pounds.
BEACH YOGA Fridays at 9 AM
Held at the Elk Rapids Memorial Park Beach. Wake up to a beautiful sunrise practice at the beach. Set your gaze on beautiful Lake Michigan, listen to your heartbeat, and expand your breath. You will leave this class recharged and feeling great! I recommend you bring a beach mat and a yoga mat.

A Naturalist on the Trail

Every Friday this summer a naturalist will be stationed outdoors on our trail system, offering a new mobile mini-program each week. Stop into the Center to find out where the naturalist is that day, or go find them on the trail! You can drop in any time during the 3-hour window of the program. For all ages! Donations welcome.
