Threads of Change: Design & Data

Textiles tell stories and Threads of Change weaves together art, data, and the natural world in breathtaking fiber installations that explore our planet’s past, present, and future.

On view at the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) through May 25, this exhibition features large-scale works like Sandra Sawatzky’s Black Gold Tapestry, a hand-embroidered, 220-foot narrative chronicling the history and impact of oil—from dinosaurs to modern industry. The exhibition also includes the Crochet Coral Reef, a stunning fusion of math, craft, and environmental awareness, and Net-Work by Adrian Baker, a delicate yet powerful installation that captures the movement of ocean life.
