On Thursday April 27, 2017, the University of Connecticut, Center for Real Estate hosted its 15 Annual Awards banquet in the Rome Commons Ball Room at the Storrs campus. The night consisted of honoring and recognizing both Real Estate Center students, alumni, and other outstanding industry leaders.
Lifetime Achievement Award - Arthur N.K. Greenblatt

Arthur N.K. Greenblatt was
the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement
Award. Arthur, is President and CEO of VestA Corporation. This award honors real estate professionals who have made sustained and meritorious contributions through their careers to the UConn Real Estate Program and the real estate profession. Arthur has over 40 years of industry experience. Arthur Co-Found VestA Corporation, affordable housing in 1998 driven by his "doing well while doing good" incentive. New Business development is Arthur's passion, for which his ability to incorporate the conflicting interests of various stakeholders is uniquely suited. Arthur was the first general counsel of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA), for which he helped to launch the Uninsured Multifamily Mortgage Program, and was responsible for devising creative workouts for troubled projects. Prior to his CHFA tenure, Arthur specialized in real estate law with a Hartford law firm. Arthur has a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and a. B.S. from American International College.
Distinguished Alumni of the Year - Pamela Tisdale Thompson

Pamela Tisdale Thompson
received the Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award. This award honors UConn Alumni who have provided distinguished service to the UConn Real Estate Program and the real estate profession. Pamela, is the Executive Director of Portfolio Manager at UBS Realty Investors LLC in Hartford, CT. She has 26 years of industry experience. Pam oversees acquisitions, financings and reporting for a large core equity fund. Previously she held positions within the real estate groups at Arthur Andersen & Co., Aetna, CIGNA and Bozzuto & Associates. She considers herself fortunate to have baleen able to work in a variety of different areas over the years providing experience in Asset Management, Acquisitions, Sales, and financing. Pam graduated from UConn with a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies and later with an MBA in Finance (with a real estate Concentration).
Alumni of the Year - Jared Thal

honors went to Jared Thal, who is the Executive Managing Director, Strategic Advisory Group, Cushman and Wakefield in New York. This recognition goes to UConn Alumni who have provided excellent service to the UConn Real Estate Program and the real estate profession. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield (formerly Cassidy Turley/DTZ) in 2010, Mr. Thal was a Director with the Consulting Group at CBRE, a founding member of the Strategic Advisory Services practice of Trammell Crow Company (acquired by CBRE in 2006), and also worked as an Associate within the Portfolio Consulting Group of Cushman & Wakefield. Jared began his real estate career at the Austin McGuire Company, where he developed portfolio valuation models and disciplined market forecasting methodologies. Jared graduated from the UConn School of Business in 2004, and has since excelled in the real estate profession.
Early Career Alumni - Jeremy Bachrach

The Early Career Alumni award was received by Jeremy Bachrach. This award honors UConn Alumni in the early stages of their careers who have provided outstanding service to the UConn Real Estate Program. Jeremy, is an Associate at PGIM Real Estate Finance in San Francisco, CA. Since joining the firm in 2012 he has gained experience in affordable and senior housing lending programs. His expertise in financing properties with low income housing tax credits, regulatory agreements Section 8 and tax exempt bonds. He is responsible for direct loan originations and managing transactions focusing on Fannie Mae DUS®, Freddie Mac Targeted Affordable Housing and FHA loans.

, a UConn Professor of Geography, received the Excellence in Research Award for her contributions to the UConn Center for Real Estate.
Student of the Year - Anthony J. D'Amelio, Jr.
Anthony J. D'Amelio, Jr. was named Student of the Year. Anthony, is a graduating UConn Business School Real Estate Finance major and is starting his career at Cushman and Wakefield in their rotational program.

VestA Corporation was recognized as Industry Partner of the year.
Organizational Partner -CATIC
Connecticut Attorney's Title Insurance Company was named Organizational Partner of the year.
The UConn Center for Real Estate also recognized current and graduating students for their academic excellence.
