LIGHT A CANDLE AT THE BASILICA SHRINE

Three Philadelphia Shrines Collaborate

on New Pilgrim's Passport

The Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, The National Shrine of St. John Neumann, and The National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia have unveiled a new Pilgrim’s Passport. This program is a collaboration among three Philadelphia shrines designated by Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, as Sacred Spaces for Jubilee Year 2025

The Pilgrim’s Passport program debuts on Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Individuals and groups are invited to visit each of the three shrines as Pilgrims of Hope. When a person visits any one of the three shrines, they can ask for the Passport and immediately have it stamped. When the pilgrim obtains all three stamps, they are given a special pin containing a series of blessed religious medals that represent all three shrines. Additionally, children participating in the program will receive a rosary band at each shrine they visit and the same pin as the adults after visiting all three shrines.

"Each shrine is a peaceful and restful place for prayer. It is best to go slowly and never be in a rush with a pilgrimage experience," said Fr. John Kettelberger, CM, rector of the Basilica Shrine. "We want you to visit all three sites at your own pace and experience the unique spirituality that each provides.”

Watch the Vincentians' 400th Anniversary Film

Vincentians, also known as the Congregation of the Mission, serve people living in poverty and on the margins. They were established in Paris by Saint Vincent de Paul in 1625. Today, members of the Congregation–3,000 men from nearly 100 countries–continue St. Vincent’s legacy throughout the world.

In the Eastern Province of the United States and Panama, nearly 100 Vincentians help a dozen communities through funded programming. Vincentian ministries also include St. John’s University and Niagara University in New York, the Basilica Shrine, and the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal.

In honor of the 400th anniversary of the Congregation of the Mission, the Vincentians of the Eastern Province released a short film showcasing their work.

Favors Received from Our Lady

Through Mary, our glorious mother, we find strength and grace. Knowing she intercedes on our behalf gives us faith, hope, peace, and comfort.

A Marian devotee shared their experience:

“Just this week, I had a close family member with a huge medical emergency: a baby born at 25 weeks. The baby is doing well, and the tear, which they thought was present in the bowels, is not visible, so no surgery was necessary. Always grateful.”

Please share your story of favors granted by Our Blessed Mother to inspire others in their devotion.
