JCC and Myerberg Center Collaborate to Expand Programming for Older Adults
For over 40 years, the Edward A. Myerberg Center has helped older adults to be fit, creative and connected, enhancing lives in Baltimore and beyond. Now, through an exciting partnership with its sister agency, the Myerberg’s innovative and compelling programming for adults 55+ will be available to members of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore. The ‘Myerberg at the J’ creative series kicks off with three classes in the arts, including Ceramics with instructor Tracey Robbins, Mud to Music with Visual Artist Melissa Foss and Comedy Doesn’t Retire with Performing Artist Ti Malik Coleman. CHAI and the Myerberg are honored to collaborate with JCC to provide meaningful enrichment opportunities for older adults. "We are thrilled to partner with CHAI and the Myerberg to offer these new creative classes to our adult members and guests at our Owings Mills location" says Barak Herman, CEO,  Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore.
Collaboration at the Heart of Good Deeds Day
Each year on Good Deeds Day, community members come together to support northwest Baltimore through service. On Sunday, April 3, volunteers armed with trash grabbers and rubber boots worked together to beautify Western Run Stream, while neighbors from the City/County bordering communities of Fallstaff and Colonial Village united once again to tidy the common spaces they share. CHAI’s Good Deeds Day projects provide northwest Baltimore residents the opportunity to express pride in their neighborhoods, work collaboratively toward common goals and get to know one another in the process. For those who would like another opportunity to show up for their neighborhoods and neighbors, the One Park Heights initiative is hosting an additional community volunteer event in honor of Good Deeds Day. Residents are invited to join a beautification project at the Pimlico Golden Garden on Sunday,
April 24, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.
As a proud member of Northwest Baltimore Partnership, we invite you to view "Northwest Baltimore: Through Their Words" a collection of interviews with longtime residents sharing their experiences and hopes for the future, which premiered in late March.
