Member of the Week

The Halouska Family’s Chaney-Reager Funeral Home has served Sterling and the surrounding areas at its current location since 1930. Originally founded in 1900 by A.D. Jackson and T.D. Ritchie. In 2019, Ed & Amalia Halouska purchased the business and continue to operate it with compassion, empathy, respect, and dedication. Ed started his service in the funeral industry in Nov. 1993, working for a small-town funeral home. He graduated from Arapahoe Community Mortuary Science program in 1999 and completed and passed the national board exam and the Nebraska state board exam. Ed is recognized by the state of Colorado as a Certified Mortuary Science Practitioner and holds a Nebraska state embalmer and funeral director’s license. He also obtained a life insurance license to help further assist our families with planning ahead. Ed managed and was part of a large funeral home in Pueblo for many years and later opened their own facility in southern Colorado. They closed their business and moved to Sterling in 2012, where they joined the Chaney-Reager family. Ed and Amalia are known for their care and compassion when serving families and help create a meaningful and loving tribute, whether cremation or burial is chosen. Ed is very active in the community serving as the chairperson for the Lions Student of the Month program, co-chair of the Lions Easter Candy Hunt and he serves on the Lions Scholarship committee and helps in many other areas. The Halouska family understands the importance of being part of our community and your family. The Halouska Family’s Chaney-Reager Funeral Home offers our area the largest on-site caskets, urns, and memorial items to serve any family’s needs or budget. They help families find a suitable place to hold a meaningful and honorable tribute, whether it’s at their chapel, your church, your home, cemetery, or any other appropriate place. They also offer their families the peace of mind in pre-planning their end-of-life wishes and locking in the price for future needs. In some instances, even guaranteeing that there can be no out of pocket expenses at the time of passing. The Halouska Family’s Chaney-Reager Funeral Home is located at 443 S. 2nd St., Sterling, CO 80751. For more information or to speak to their caring staff call (970) 522-2111 or their website www.chaney-reager.com.
