With the 2024 Legislative Session fast approaching, the fifth committee week will commence today, November 13. I will provide weekly updates during committee weeks to keep you informed about the key bills and committee meetings that may have an impact on your business interests in Florida.


Senate President Prioritizes

Growing Health Care Workforce

Senate President Kathleen Passidomo issued a memorandum on growing Florida’s health care workforce in order to meet the needs of the state’s growing population. The Senate Health Policy committee is meeting on Tuesday, November 14 to hold a workshop to discuss ideas on increasing the state’s health care workforce.


House Select Committees Meeting This Afternoon

The House Select Committee on Health Innovation will meet to discuss shared savings programs. The House Select Committee on Hurricane Resiliency and Recovery will host a panel discussion by local governments that were impacted by Hurricane Idalia.


House Appropriations Committee Receives

Long Range Outlook

The House Appropriations Committee will receive a Long Range Financial Outlook presentation from Amy Baker, the Coordinator of the Florida Legislature's Office of Economic & Demographic Research. Chris Spencer, the Director of the Governor’s Office of Policy and Budget will give an update on Emergency Preparedness and Response for Hurricane Idalia.
