Dear Families,
I know EUSD started their new school year this week, and other districts and private schools will be following suit soon. When my kids were younger, the busyness of back-to-school time always made me feel like an ant- scurrying here and there, from one list to another, and usually carrying a load that was much too large for me. Now, preparing to send my youngest off to school in Ireland, back-to-school has come with different challenges than gathering supplies and arranging carpools. But I'm still feeling like that ant.
I hope you will join me in breathing deeply, trying to experience the excitement and joy of this time, and allowing yourself to feel what you feel without judgement as we walk through the back-to-school season together.
If you have time, and the energy, I would love to see you at the Blessing of the Backpacks on Sunday. It would also be a good time to drop off school supplies since our School Supply Drive ends Sunday (see below for more information).
May you enjoy the many blessings, and easily meet the many challenges of this season.
Much Love,
Erin

God of infinite growth,
we pray for ourselves and students everywhere;
bring us closer to your love and truth
through our studies, arts, music, and sports;
use us to make the world a better place;
and guide us to deepen our love for you and our neighbors;
through your many names we pray. Amen

We shall awaken from our dullness and rise vigorously toward justice. If we fall in love with creation deeper and deeper, we will respond to its endangerment with passion.

School Supply Drive
Ends Sunday!
This is the last week for our school supply drive! Please help us provide basic school supplies for our food pantry families. We currently need new pencils, pencil sharpeners, paper, single subject spiral notebooks, and colored pencils. Please bring them to church and place them in the bin in the Narthex by August 21st. We need to supply about 250 children, so please ask your friends and neighbors to help. Contact me for more information.
