Caring Hands News

With MLK Day, Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia launches their 2023 Ready for Learning campaign. 60,000 backpacks full of new school supplies will be given to local children. Each backpack needs a hand-made well-wish card tucked inside.

GVCO Community: Pull out your crayons, markers and construction paper.

Kids and adults: channel your creativity to make happy cards to help them reach their goal of 10,000 cards for MLK Day!

Two large white collection bins will be placed by the GVCO Community Center entrance at 51 N. Bacton Hill Rd., Malvern. Please drop off your cards from Monday, Jan. 16th through Friday, Jan. 20th.

"You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make."

In Ian's Boots

In late January, GVCO will be collecting new or gently used shoes, sneakers and boots. Search your closets for unused or outgrown footwear that GVCO will deliver to In Ian's Boots.

In Ian's Boots is a Pottstown charity dedicated to providing footwear to those in need within the United States and around the world. There are many people facing serious economic trials in their lives and can not afford to buy footwear for themselves or their families.

Details about collection bins will be available soon.

Crew News

Spring Crew

Registration is open for Spring Crew for students in grades 8-12.

Great Valley Crew will be rowing out of the John S. Trinsey Jr. Memorial Boathouse in Bridgeport. Students must provide their own transportation. Practices are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 3:45-6:15PM and on Saturdays at Trinsey from 10AM-1PM.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a competitive rowing team and we need your full commitment to all practices and regattas. We need the whole team at every practice to ensure we can get on the water ever day the weather conditions allow. One rower missing practice means an entire boat must stay on-land.
