Mark your calendars for the 2024 CYFS Early Childhood Research Summit on April 23, 2024, at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center.
The seventh biennial summit will consist of several presentations and related roundtable discussions on the research and practices that are improving the developmental trajectories of young children.
The summit's keynote speaker is Chrishana Lloyd, a research scholar in early childhood development at Child Trends, one of the nation’s most respected sources for research and data on children. With more than 25 years of experience in education and social science, Lloyd is an expert in applied implementation research, racial equity framing in a historical context, innovative data collection methods, and early care and education workforce issues and initiatives.

Student Funding: Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Child Psychology Graduate Student Fellowship
The Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Fellowship program supports graduate research projects and scholarships in child psychology and seeks to nurture excellent young scholars in areas of psychology, such as child-clinical, pediatric, school, educational and developmental psychopathology.
Budget: $25,000

American Association of University Women – American Fellowships
These fellowships support women scholars in all fields of study who are pursuing full-time study to complete dissertations, conducting postdoctoral research full time, or preparing research for publication.

Brady Education Foundation
The Foundation is currently accepting Research Project proposals and Existing Program Evaluation proposals that have the potential to provide data that will inform how to address disparities in educational opportunities associated with race, ethnicity and family income.

Spencer Foundation – Research Grants on Education
This program supports education research projects that will contribute to the improvement of education, broadly conceived, with budgets of up to $50,000 for projects ranging from one to five years.

University of Nebraska Faculty Grants Collaboration Initiative
The Collaboration Initiative is designed to enhance competitiveness of University of Nebraska faculty for federal extramural funding by fully leveraging the intellectual capacity and research resources across the NU campuses.
One-year grants are available to fund seed grants designed to strengthen federal research funding applications. Awards are available to collaborative teams with faculty from at least two different NU campuses.
Principal Investigators must attend the Faculty Collaboration Initiative Grants Annual Meeting on Oct. 6, 2023, to be eligible for funding; if conflicts exist, partial day attendance is acceptable.
If significant University-related obligations prevent attendance, please contact Kelly Dick at nri@nebraska.edu to request a waiver after registering by Sept. 25, 2023.
Budget: $10,000-$100,000 total for one year.

Funding forecast: Child Care Policy Research Partnerships, Secondary Analyses of Child Care and Early Education Data
The Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation in the Administration for Children and Families plans to solicit applications in 2024 for two new research grant programs. Findings from both programs are intended to inform policy, program administration and future research.

Secondary Analyses of Child Care and Early Education Data
Proposals will support researchers conducting secondary analyses of data to address key questions of relevance to the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF).

Child Care Policy Research Partnerships
Proposals will support five-year cooperative agreements between Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Lead Agencies in states, territories or tribes, and research partnership organizations to develop investigations of child care subsidy policies and practices to increase low-income families’ access to quality child care.

This three-day event will present the latest research surrounding Head Start, Early Head Start, child care, home visiting, child welfare, special education, pre-kindergarten, early elementary and other early child care programs.
This conference includes plenary sessions, symposia, poster symposia, poster sessions and informal events. The conference is being planned as an in-person event with select sessions shared virtually.

MAP Academy Fall 2023 Methodology Applications Series
