Now the leaders of that team are hosting listening sessions with students, parents, and teachers to better understand the challenges in our school system and narrow down our focus for potential actions.

Little Food Pantry

The Little Food Pantry, that blue box at the edge of our parking lot, needs some love! It operates on a “donate what you can, take what you need” basis and right now the need is great! Canned or boxed non-perishable items, especially canned tuna and canned chicken, are needed. No bagged items please. Donations may be put directly into the box or placed on the pew at the back of the worship space.

As pastor I often have the opportunity to represent Joy Reigns and do really cool things. This week I had overlapping opportunities and needed to share the fun.

Tuesday Kelly Purnell, as part of the Journey to Joy Recovery House board, received a $20,000 AACo Community Grant, for staffing and services to support the mothers and children in recovery at our house. Praise the Lord! Kelly is standing in this picture with the 60+ other well deserving organizations.

Also on Tuesday, due to our vacancy in the youth ministry position, I have taken on some short term summer responsibilities and "had to" go rafting with our youth. It was tons of fun and a great time of creating deep connections with God and each other.

As a pastor I get to really cool things, and sometimes they happen on the same day. I sure love my job!
