CTC Executive Director, Anne Ogden is proud to announce that two new members have recently joined the CTC Academy Board of Directors.

Felisa Van Liew, having retired from over 30 years as an educational leader, Speech Pathologist and a chief administrator for the Paterson School District will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as member of the board.

WELCOME JENNIFER BOYLE!

BEYOND GRADUATION SUPPORT

Jennifer Boyle is consulting to CTC Academy as the over-21 Transition Coordinator, a new position in CTC’s Beyond Graduation pilot project. Jennifer brings her experience, commitment and enthusiasm to this newly-created role.

The Transition Coordinator position works in harmony with the social work department, focusing outward to the community, to state advocacy, and to families nearing graduation and post-graduation.

The goals of the Transition Coordinator position are:

  • To develop CTC’s partnerships in the adult services provider community
  • To build CTC’s adult services infrastructure. (i.e., managing the adult services task force and identifying and applying for grants in the adult services arena)
  • To enhance connections and camaraderie of CTC families preparing for their children’s adult lives
  • To advocate for improvements in state-level supports for individuals with substantial disabilities and medical complexity.

“My most important goal is to help families build and share their knowledge and to develop a plan for a good life after graduation - so their child’s transition to the adult world is more smooth and less stressful.”

STUDENT ATTENDANCE EMAIL AND

EMERGENCY BLAST REMINDER

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you all for my warm welcome to CTC. It was lovely getting to see some of you at Back to School Night and I hope to meet you all throughout the year.

STUDENT ATTENDANCE EMAIL: As discussed, we are introducing a new procedure for parents/guardians to report your child's absence or your need to drop off late/pick up early - by emailing an attendance email address. This email address is a shared mailbox and will ensure that a team of us receives the notification. Parents are also welcome to include other team members (such as teachers or therapists) in the email but must email the address below to ensure the message is received: flstudentattendance@ctcacademy.org

TESTING EMERGENCY BLAST SYSTEM: We will be testing our emergency blast system (text, email, phone call) on Friday, October 6th. If you have any issues receiving the messages, please email Andrea Milstein in our main office at amilstein@ctcacademy.org

Looking forward to a great year!
