Sunday, November 5 - A Celebration of the Saints of South

On Sunday, November 5, we will celebrate All Saints Day by honoring those who are no longer with us, who have touched our lives.

Looking back over the 200 years of South Church's history, whose story would YOU like to include? Please send an email to Margery at pastor@southpres.org with the name(s) of the saint(s), circa their years of participation at South and the contribution they made that you want to lift up.  During church on November 5, we will celebrate communion surrounded by the love and legacy of those who have gone before us.

Rachel Jack Thompson will also be with us and after church, during soup together, she will sign and distribute copies of her new book "Joseph Gilmore: Faithful Christian Heretic," a collection of Joe's provocations she has edited.

At 1:00 pm, as part of South Church's 200 Year Celebration, Irvington Presbyterian Church Music Director and organist Jonathan Riss will give a concert on our beautiful organ. Suggested donations of $15 ($5 for students/seniors) will be accepted at the door with all proceeds going to Irvington Pres and South Pres. Mark your calendar!

The Donald Gallery | Ruth Irving's 'Celebrated Cells and Personal Mycelium' through October 22

Donald Gallery

Yonkers resident Ruth Irving explores fungal relationships in a uniquely tangible way.

The self-taught artist takes advantage of fibers and mixed media to tell the story of mycelium from the fungi’s perspective. Glass beads become seed sacks; silk threads become a colorful, undulating surface; fiber is pulled, stuffed, and woven to create textures and surfaces until there is a shift into another realm.

Roots & Wings | Wild Edibles Workshop

Explore the plants of South Church's campus with naturalist Greg Rosen. Learn to identify edible plants and how to harvest and prepare. The final session this season is Saturday, November 4 at 1:00 pm.

Presented by Roots & Wings. Suggested donation $15, no one is turned away for lack of funds. More / register
