Fall Events 2022

NEW IBERIA, La. --- El Festival Española de Nueva Iberia has announced their upcoming fall events including the Running of the Bulls 5k, the King's Ball, and Children's & Queen's Pageant.


Running of the Bulls 5k:


The bulls are back! This year marks the 10th year anniversary of the Running of the Bulls Race. The event will take place on Sat., Sept. 17, in downtown New Iberia on Fulton Street and will include a 10k, 5k and 1-mile race.


This is a dog friendly race and participants can bring their fur-companions. Non-runners can still participate and enjoy the outdoors by walking. Strollers are welcome.


Registration is open at NewIberiaSpanishFestival.com. Both individuals and teams are welcome. Awards will be given for the "Biggest Team."



The King's Ball:


6th Annual El Baile del Rey - The King’s Ball will take place on Fri., Sept. 30, from 7 p.m.-10:30 p.m. at the Cyr Gates Community Center in New Iberia City Park (300 Parkview Dr.).


Royalty presentation and crowning will begin at 7:30 p.m. Spanish Festival King VI will reign over the 2023 El Festival Español de Nueva Iberia on April 21-23. This event is one of the fundraiser events for the annual Spanish Festival.


Tickets are $35 per person and will include tapas, live music by Cajun Company Band and a cash bar. Tickets are on sale now at Bird on the Bayou (120 E. The Children's & Queen's Pageant:


The 7th Annual Children’s & Queen’s Pageant will be held on Sat., Oct. 1, at the Cyr Gates Community Center at New Iberia City Park.


The Children’s Pageant will begin at 2 p.m. with ages divisions from 0-11 year-old. The Queen’s Pageant will begin at 6 p.m. with age divisions from 12 and up. Pageant forms and contracts are available at NewIberiaSpanishFestival.com. Spanish descent is not required to enter the competition.


The newly-crowned Spanish Festival royalty will reign over the 2023 El Festival Español de Nueva Iberia. They will serve as ambassadors representing the festival, organization and the City of New Iberia as they travel around the state of Louisiana to attend other festivals and royalty events.
