Our mission at the Old Dog House is to provide a loving, secure, comfortable home to elderly dogs, where they can live out their lives and be appreciated for the sweet souls they are.

Cali our new dog

Cali is a 10 year old Doberman / Lab mix. She was brought into my vet's office because she was peeing in the house. They ran bloodwork and found she had a urinary tract infection. Her owner was given antibiotics for her and they left. The next day they came back and told our vet to euthanize her. WHAT? who euthanizes a dog that has a urinary tract infection? Luckily for her, our vet decided to give me a call instead. Other than a U.T.I., she is in good health. She arrived August 4th. So far she is doing great.

Smokie Joe

Smokie Joe was diagnosed with diabetes back in April. I thought he might beat the statistic of 80% of diabetic dogs going blind. He didn't. It came on gradually. I believe he can still see a little as he still gets around and will bark if he wants something.

Athena

Athena sadly passed away July 18th. She had been here 45 days. She went downhill over 2 days and lost total control of her back legs. Athena was was a joy to care for and was loved until the end.
