When Honey’s longtime owners couldn’t keep her, they entrusted her to a “rescue group,” thinking the old gal would quickly find a new home. Sadly, many more dogs were coming into the rescue group than were being adopted. Honey was housed in a tiny, unkept yard with two dozen other dogs.
Mealtimes were tough because some dogs attacked other dogs. Honey tried to get the rescue ladies to pet her, but with all the dogs jumping and barking, the lady left as soon as the food was set on the floor. Honey missed her “first family’s” home and their nightly game of “tug & hug.”
On the rescue’s website, Honey was described as an “old, quiet girl with plenty of spunk.” As Honey waited, her hope for a third chance at a loving home faded. She became depressed and scared. Then, on a normal day, just after the rescue lady spread food out and all the dogs devoured it, officers raided the home and collected all the dogs. Honey's future was about to change.
