Meeting Highlights

A huge thank you to Michael Granger, a student from Illinois Math and Science Academy who has taken the time to identify a computer code to discover invaluable new data points that shed light on various aspects of our service sector. Here's a brief overview of what we covered:

Service Sector Breakdown: Delving into the breakdown of our service sector, we explored key insights into its various components, highlighting trends and areas of focus for the multitude of services that are on the IRIS System.

Capacity Bar Data Trends: Michael's data analysis allowed us to uncover trends in capacity bar data, offering valuable insights into the utilization and availability of service amongst the organizations on IRIS.

Referrals by Age and Race/Ethnicity: By examining the count of referrals across different age groups and racial/ethnic demographics, we gained a deeper understanding of the demographics accessing our referral services.

Furthermore, our discussions expanded beyond data analysis to address critical resources for new arrivals and refugees in Kane County. We explored the myriad services provided by Welcoming Centers and various agencies, including but not limited to case management, medical and dental assistance, access to food, educational support, job opportunities, and mental health services.

Many of these vital resources are conveniently cataloged on IRIS, providing a comprehensive directory for individuals seeking assistance and support within our community.

Our IRIS community now includes 190 partners representing multiple sectors, including behavioral health, primary care, dental, parenting resources, substance use services, basic needs (e.g. food, clothing, and emergency shelter), senior services, juvenile and adult probation, early childhood, K-12 education, youth support, veteran services and more.

The most recent additions to our IRIS community include:

  • Ascension Mercy-Outpatient Behavioral Health Services
  • Community Service Council
  • The Ivy Academy of Early Learning-Geneva
  • The Ivy Academy-Elgin
  • Evergreen Shared Housing
  • Ellie Mental Health of Aurora
  • Sycamore Oasis Corporation

Please take a minute to explore their services on IRIS and refer community members in need.
