Palm Sunday March 24, 2024

Welcome to St. Laurence

Please join us for Palm Sunday and Holy Week services.

This Sunday, we mark the beginning of Holy Week, as we commemorate the celebratory entrance of Christ into Jerusalem. This service ends on a solemn note, as it marks the beginning of Holy Week. On Maundy Thursday, we gather for a simple supper and a participatory and reflective service, commemorating the Last Supper with Jesus and his disciples. Good Friday, we join with Lakeview United for a contemplative Stations of the Cross, followed by a procession of the cross from St Laurence to Lakeview United. Our Easter Sunday Festive Eucharist will be a joyous intergenerational service celebrating the Resurrection. All are welcome!

This week, join us for coffee, tea and fellowship after our Palm Sunday service, and to stay for Conversations. Our Conversations topic will be “Which Jesus do I want to See?”

Please Note: We have located a new system to replace our failed Hearing Assist equipment, and it is on order with an arrival date in mid-April. We are also asking a sound professional to rebalance the sound board and output. We understand the concerns of those affected and are working to fix our sound issues as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

CONVERSATIONS

Conversations

Join us each week in the Sunshine Room at 11:20 for reflection on theology, spirituality, and current events.

This week in Conversations: “Which Jesus do I want to See?”

Our Easter Offering will go to Medical Mercy Canada for their work in Ukraine.

MMC provides both financial and medical aid to the Ukraine. Supplies have been accepted and distributed by MMC designated on site managers to medical clinics, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. Since the conflict in Ukraine began, support has been given to the Ukrainian people through financial aid and medical supply deliveries. Supplies and funds also support the many displaced people who have made it to western Ukraine. A portion of funding previously designated toward infrastructure projects has been redirected to provide immediate aid to camps and villages.

For more information, speak to St Laurence member Laura Karlsson, who is Vice President of Medical Mercy, or go to the website at https://medicalmercycanada.com/

Easter envelopes are available on the counter in the lobby
