School is right around the corner and our children, no matter if you have teens going back to school or college or first-timers starting kindergarten, are feeling so anxious. Worries are common as our children worry about many different school-related issues, such as teachers, friends, fitting in, and/or simply being away from their parents.
Our parenting skills begin to be tested as they are coping with the "prior to the first day of school blues". You may see how your child shows signs of clinging, crying, having temper tantrums, headaches or stomach pains, and becoming irritable. The transition can even be disruptive for the entire family!
Stress is something we all have to deal with on a daily basis, including our kids. Helping your child learn to deal with stress in a healthy way can increase their emotional health, as well as create a stronger bond between you and your child.
Randi’s House of Angels offers an interactive therapeutic group for children ages 5-7 years and parents/guardians who experience ongoing trauma. This program teaches children to think through alternative ways to solve problems, and blends emotional and art therapy with psychoeducation, using kind, gentle and playful interactions.
