As part of Child Welfare Worker Appreciation Week, September 12-16, 2022, NCWWI and the Children's Bureau are hosting a one-hour virtual recognition event on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 3:00 pm EDT.

This event is about taking time to reflect, connect, and recharge. You do so much for others so we hope you'll join in and encourage those around you to do the same.

This year our emcees are Carissa O'Dell, Evan Tansey, and Brittany Candioto. They are NCWWI traineeship students and alumni of the University of Oklahoma and The Muscogee Nation Indian Child Welfare Program team members. This year's speakers are below. Learn more by viewing their pics and bios here.
  • Tamara Vest, Independent Living Coordinator at Murray State University and active advocate who uses her lived experience in foster care to contribute to the transformation of the child welfare system
