Celebrating national recognition!
We are overjoyed to announce that Raphael House has been selected as one of 361 Yield Giving Open Call grantees nationwide, including only 3 recipients in Oregon, receiving a $2 million award from MacKenzie Scott’s philanthropic organization.

This gift is a testament to the dedication of our incredible staff, board, volunteers, and supporter community (including you!) over nearly five decades – and to the strength of domestic violence survivors we work alongside.
“All of us at Raphael House are deeply honored by this momentous recognition! We’re guided by survivors in all that we do here, and these funds will help us at a time when need for our services is greater than ever.”

Survivor leadership

Featured is our amazing Program Manager Shaykeishya Hardin, CRM, PSS who shares about the lasting impact of our programs.

She knows this firsthand because she stayed in Raphael House’s shelter with her kids 12 years ago.

"I get to use my experiences to help other survivors find hope and lasting change, too.

Survivors like me are leading the way here! We work with families wherever they are, for as long as they need, helping them get into housing, recover, and create the lives they want."

Thank you to Shaykeishya, and to our whole incredible team for their life-saving work that is so very worthy of this national recognition!

What are next steps?
Raphael House just embarked on developing our next 5-year strategic plan. Through this process, we’re excited to bring together the expertise of our program participants, staff, board, and community to determine how we can best leverage these funds and maximize impact.

While we’re celebrating this incredible grant, we also acknowledge that survivor-centered services have been historically underfunded and that it’s going to take unprecedented levels of investment to catch up with need.

That's why we are calling on donors and partners to join Yield Giving by continuing to invest in life-saving support for survivors – at Raphael House and our phenomenal partners

Each donation – of every type and amount – has a direct and critical impact on families fleeing abuse. And it's only by working together that we can build a future where everyone is safe in their home and relationships!
About Yield Giving's Open Call
Yield Giving received over 6,300 nonprofit applications after launching their Open Call last March. Only those organizations top-rated by their peers advanced through the first round of review, where they underwent further evaluation and due diligence by an External Panel.

Raphael House is honored to have been selected through this rigorous process, and to be among the very highest-scoring agencies nationwide – ultimately receiving double the original award amount.
