Lynchburg Region members enjoyed a summer pool social earlier this month.

It’s back to school time in Virginia and also the time that many of us reset for the coming year. After some fun summer social events, our regions are gearing up for fall meetings and CE events. Social activities and professional development are just two of the benefits that come with VCNP membership. Congratulations to Lynchburg Region member Morgan McDowell, MSN, AGPCNP-BC, WHNP-BC, and Southwest Region member Cassie Sheffey, MSN, APRN, FNP-C. They have been named to the Virginia Nurses Association’s Top 40 Under 40 list and will be recognized at the VNF Gala on September 9.

Nominations are open for the annual AANP NP State Award for Excellence and the Advocate State Award for Excellence. The awards recognize an outstanding NP and an outstanding advocate for NPs in each state. Nominees do not have to be AANP members, however only current AANP members can nominate candidates. Deadline is Sept. 11.
